Starry NIght with Church Lights
18” x 24” acrylic on canvas
(inspired by Van Gogh’s “Starry NIght”)
It was time to finish what I started this week. You may have seen the “before finished” version of my painting in the post "Finish What I Started" back in January. Here it is finally finished!
If you’re familiar with Starry Night you’ll notice something different…
I painted lights in the church and in some surrounding houses to symbolize life. Van Gogh painted his with darkened church windows and doors because he thought it to be a cold lifeless place.
I love the lights in the sky in both paintings! The sky, not just in this painting, is probably my favorite thing to capture on film or on a canvas. The sky and trees…it’s a toss up!

P.S. This week is cutting it close to my personal deadline of Saturday at midnight because I spent most of my week on an exciting project to be revealed in the next couple weeks. Lots of brainstorming and sketches!
