Fun Knobs!

After last week’s 17 hour project and next week’s anticipated 20+ hour project, it was time for a simple, couple hour project this week.  I would have loved to have found an old dresser to refinish for our baby room, but alas there are too many projecst on the table to realistically complete.  So, I decided to buy an IKEA dresser and spruce it up with some fun colored knobs.  If you’ve been checking out projects related to his room, you are probably starting to wonder where the fun colors come into play.  Here’s the dresser we started with (well, after we took the pile of IKEA wood and put it together.

I found these wooden knobs on clearance at Lowe’s for a total of $4 and used some primer and paint I already had.  Due to my particular eye for color I could not settle on a paint swatch so I mixed some light blue and yellow paints (the yellow from the chalkboard project).

The screws that came with the knobs were too long for our dresser, so the only hitch was trying to find some that would work.  We found them with no problem at our local Boonsboro Hardware who said we could pay for them next time we were in because we had no cash on hand.  We love local!

We’ll save the boring pewter knobs for a more serious room one day or paint them a different color for the next kid!

Thanks for following…even through the onset of more baby-related projects!
